Pintails make new pairs every year well flying south so when they return to the breeding grounds they hen is ready to lay eggs. The nest is made by the hen 2-5 days before the eggs are laid. 3-12 eggs are laid within 24 hours of each other. When all eggs have hatched the mother leads them to the nearest source of water. |
